The Avenden
Estate was the first development undertaken by Australand
that created a mix of normal residential allotments
with medium density building construction.
Designed by Breese Pitt
Dixon, this highly successful development had to take
into account a huge amount of restrictions. The construction
of a number of “single sided” roads was
introduced at a great expense to Australand in order
to maintain most of the vegetation on and surrounding
the site that existed from when the site was purchased.
This land mark
project created a stepping stone for Australand to introduce
a medium density division and the final result speaks
for itself.
